Why not erupt a real volcano? Mt St Helans hasn't gone off in a while.

I'm no scientist, but I remember my geology professor saying that only certain types of volcanoes are capable of propelling sulfur high enough into the atmosphere. I don't know whether or not St. Helen is one of them. The last "little ice age" caused by volcanoes was hundreds of years ago.
