IWC brought it on themselves by refusing to let Japan harvest whales in numbers less than other countries that whale. It's absolutely ridiculous how Japan got singled out to not be allowed to whale when so many other countries (all mysteriously populated by Europeans) are allowed to do so without censure. Japan will harvest under 500 whales a year from a species of at least over 500,000 (possibly in the millions).
