this kind of does make her the palin of the left

most conservatives have no opinion on palin because she is not a fiscal conservative at all (enforced windfall profits tax on AK oil producers, gave the money to AK citizens as a stipend) and her views on all other subjects are overtly moronic. her selection as VP was a severe mistake for the mccain campaign and it is widely believed by conservatives that she's responsible for his defeat

this all makes her mostly a talking point for the left. the right would like to forget she exists.

similarly, the left mostly ignores cortez, the right's obsession is similar to the left's on palin.

one key difference though: nobody is talking about elevating her to the office of vice president
