She wasn't unknown in her district, or at least not any more than most non-incumbents who get elected to the house. Their positions aren't particularly similar. AOC, whether you agree with her or not, is making political moves to change attitudes/environment in Congress, whereas Sarah Palin was always just a rally politician.
