legendarylemur 12/27/18 5:43:23 AM #283: | Of course, the parallels you made with Megalobox and the real world of boxing were spot on. One could say a boxer with the ability to pull in the most money are the ones who succeed. It's doubtful in real life boxing that a person without expensive professional conditioning and high tech facilities can easily have an advantage against a person with similar potential who do have access to those things. Also if you were in a gym with 0 pulls or connections, it didn't matter how great you were. It's almost like the gears are just metaphors that encompasses all of such advantages that comes with having a lot of money. Without some serious luck, you could easily just end up being a nobody. And even if you were terrible at boxing like McGregor, his worth was something that could put up a grand stage with millions watching regardless of the love of the sport. If anything, Megalobox had a much more idealized world of boxing where the people on the top cared pretty deeply about the sport, where real life is more cynical as expected --- "Iwata was awesome" - Mr. Nintendo https://i.imgtc.com/7dRrfE1.jpg ...
