The Thomas Jane one was far from perfect but it was way better than Dolph's movie That is like saying First Blood, Cobra, or Blade Runner are horrible movies because they don't follow the source material. It was the 80's, pretty much every movie took liberties with the source material. Plus 80's Punisher sucked in the comics so it is a good thing they don't follow the source material. The 89 Punisher took shitty source material and turned it into a cheesy 80's action movie (I.E. good), the 2004 movie took good source material (MK Punisher) and turned it into a disappointing mid-00's action romance film. --- I am a senior software engineer.
