Republican voters make more money than Democrats or the median American genius. They aren't poor by median standards. Trump won because of rural, uneducated, poor states. And who came up with the bright idea for the electoral college? Wealthy and educated men. Electoral college made sense in the colonial era where states operated more like their own countries.
