It's not so much this as it is the tendency for the alt-right to embrace innocuous imagery and then deliberately flaunt it, feigning ignorance when they're called out on it. And yes, feigning ignorance is a deliberate part of the plan. That's not really the case here though. There's no claim it's not Neo-Nazi imagery.
