Everything in LBP had to be made under the confines of what essentially was a strict 2D platformer. Anything that wasn't strictly platforming required extraordinary measures of creativity and exploiting the toolset. And even then, there were obvious limitations that couldn't be overcome. Dreams is a lot less structured - you can basically make any kind of game, from a turn based RPG to a FPS or even something like Marble Madness. I suspect the downside to that is that Dreams is probably a lot more complicated of a toolset, since LBP at least had a standard set of physics, platforming, mechanics, etc. Dreams is almost entirely customizable. There's no "core" game play that you can build around. I really doubt it's possible to truly make a full RPG or anything truly meaningful from the Dreams toolset, but from what I've seen of the early games, you can make some really quite amazing things and basically no genre is off limits. --- Well allons-y, Alonso! ...
