One of the reasons people don't like the death penalty is because lethal injections fail often and the prisoner is left in pain for hours, then doesn't even die. Many consider this cruel and unusual punishment. The guillotine and electric chair would both be easier methods and would cause death quicker, removing the whole cruel and unusual punishment thing.
