Jimmy decided to stare directly into the sun for an hour. His face was blank and unreadable. They spent six-and-a-half hours in the sun, taking more than 800-plus photos. As night falls, he starts to breathe hard once again, which makes him a bit nauseous. His skin is warm and moist and feels like it's melting away.

And yet, at the end of it all, the man in white, still smiling, looks like his father would have.

The sun was rising, and this wasn't the first time it had touched his home. He was born to an American father, a Japanese mother, and an Australian grandmother. He grew up in the city before moving back into Australia three years ago. His home and family are small compared to those around him, but his presence continues everywhere, even in Australia.
