That is absolutely horse crap. The simplest answer is that we do have a cop as most games have cops and most games a cop won't claim until they have multiple guilty scans or have to.
You keep saying you are logically processing but then you say stuff day 1 like (Town should never claim day 1, it only helps Scum!) and day 2 (Cop should claim day 2 or we should assume we don't have one!).

You sound over and over again like you are trying to out a hiding cop. I know for a fact if I were cop, I wouldn't be claiming today. *wink*
D1 is very different than D2. Beyond that, I do stand behind my reasoning. If there is a cop, whether or not they claim is entirely up to them. I do think that the balance of probabilities says that if one doesn't claim (I don't expect one to claim), then we don't have a cop in the game. You disagree. It happens. You might even be right. Good talk.
You don't expect them to claim, but if they don't you think then one likely doesn't exist. That's some solid logic there! ---
