If something is big enough, it's fair game to assume everyone knows about it or they otherwise don't care. If someone hasn't seen one of the most watched films of all time, then they probably don't want to see it.

This is a pretty ignorant way of looking at it. I know a few people who still haven't been able to catch both Endgame and season 8 of GoT.

They're huge fans, but they're very busy with work, life, kids, family, etc.

I could see an argument for a entire season of a show, but no way about a movie. If you don't have enough time to see a single movie in several months, you have much more to be worried about than having the plot of a movie spoiled for you.
