Topic	Gamefreak just cut an unknown amount of Pokemon from Sword and Shield

Gamefreak has done stuff much worse in the past and we eventually got access to older Pokemon. Not comparable. Ruby/Sapphire had actual hardware issues preventing trading from the previous games, and they also completely overhauled the game mechanics, making them incompatible either way. Black/White allowed you to bring back you old Pokemon once you beat the game.
