it really depends on what you want out of the games. Morrowind bets on you wanting to actually explore the world (and its been designed as such with a MUCH more memorable setting) and read up on the lore and basically put you into its setting. there is no hand holding and you are completely free to make any character you want and play anyway you want and it offers more options to think outside the box and potentially break the game which really lends itself well to you actually making YOUR character (this also goes into the dice rolling combat, as you level up you will miss less which imo also adds to the feeling of your character actually improving). IMO its a better expereince IF you can get into it and especially if you can manage its dice roll combat which is most definitely not for everyone. If you can mod it, mod the combat and youre for the most part good to go.

Oblivion has a few things going for it that being better side quests, a more streamlined combat system which is easier to get into it and a substantially larger mod community to the point you can turn the game into what ever you want. outside of that imo it neutered a lot of the more interesting aspects of morrowind which made it a less memorable game.

also if you own skyrim on pc you absolutely need to try (if you havnt) Enderal. an absolutely amazing total conversion mod that pisses all over skyrim and oblivion combined.
