I had a glass top stove and it broke. The new one is an electric unit with metal burners, which I havent used in years. The burners sure do take a lot longer to cool down, but metal retains more heat so I should have guessed it. There was no way I was going to get myself another glass top model.

Most people have a favorite burner and I almost never have all four elements on at the same time, so one corner of the glass has more stress from being constantly heated and from having more weight in it than the others. This is why I went for metal burners.
