Nintendo technically only owns 1/3rd of Pokemon and tbh they've for the most part just let GameFreak and Creatures Inc do their thing with Pokemon and they've always handled business and Nintendo had much of a reason to change up how they handled things with Pokemon because they've always done a good job for the most part until recently.
