Topic	Why is it so hard for people my age to earn the respect of baby boomers?

Yet what I find paradoxical is that in today's wired world, when theoretically we're more connected than ever before to every corner of the globe, the capacity for human empathy has actually shrivelled and in some respects there seems to be more apathy, more ignorance, more cynicism, and less willingness among younger people to involve themselves in causes by comparison with, say, the 1980s. In some ways yes. Part of it is just the existing apathy being more visible than it used to be. Part of it is cynicism from being aware of every bad thing that happens from the media.
