TopicSo I am almost done with Sekiro and I'm pretty sure it ruined Dark Souls for me

My first playthrough of Sekiro was up there with my first runs of Souls games in terms of enjoyment. The combat was so different I actually felt helpless again in the beginning, which was great.

But subsequent playthroughs just became boss rush mode since there was no incentive to kill anything other than the bosses once you finish one playthrough. The lack of meaningful loot, builds, weapons, multiplayer made me pretty much over it after my second playthrough. Getting the plat became a slog after that with only a few unique bosses that I missed my first playthrough.

The combat was a breath of fresh air. But eventually the tug of war drawn out nature of it becomes exhausting. And the areas become too easy because you can stealth kill everything. And there is little variety in the environments and the few areas that were different/had environmental hazards (Abandoned Dungeon, the snake cave, the poison pit) were all the size of a shoebox and over before you get into them.

I never really get sick of playing through the Soulsborne games. I cycle through them and find new playstyles and multiplayer that keeps me coming back years later. Like aIm doing my first bloodtinge build now in Bloodborne now and I'm loving it. The combat is simple and to the point as well. Sekiro was a blast at first but I have no desire to ever play it again. I did everything I wanted to do with it in two playthroughs and the rest was just to get the plat.
