Also one thing that heavily bothers me about AC Odyssey, unless I am overlooking some really simple mechanic here, is that it's really hard to support one side of the war, because you're by default actively working against whatever faction owns a territory whenever you try to clear the map out. I don't know why they thought that was good design.

That good ol' ludonarrative dissonance at play again.

You can literally sit in one area and just alternate control of it between Sparta and Athens for as long as you want, and they'll keep paying you to do it!

Yeah lol, that too. I love how I'll do random side quests and turn them in with Spartans (because... the game tells me to? I don't know) and then they revere me so much even though I'm *always* siding against them in battles.

I honestly initially loved odyssey. Enough to put 150 hours into it. But I got kind of burnt out and went back to replay origins and black flag for shits and giggles. Now I find odyssey to be annoying as shit. Tons and tons of mindless filler and grinding. With ubisoft fighting all the time to prevent people from circumventing the grind because of goddamn microtransactions.

Also agreed with the pointless filler, there are too many pointless bandit/cultist/hunter camps :\

The dialogued quests are kind of fun and I like seeing how they turn out but I just started playing it again after a couple week break and it's like... eh. Still enjoying it but I can see why I took that break.
