Odyssey was already a terrible game so I'm not surprised, it's a shame they put out a classic like Origins and then took such a huge step back

Both were good games.
Origins is better though. It had much more attention to detail and obvious love put into it. Odyssey had a lot of repetition and mmo style elements.
Origins is smaller, but imo Odyssey is better. Combat was better in Odyssey with the abilities and I liked the scenery better. The story was more cohesive in Origins, but again, the map was like half the size and the choices in dialogue meant absolutely nothing in Origin.
Odyssey has its problems (namely the grind), but its not a bad game.
Odyssey is what has killed my interest in the series. I have absolutely no desire at all to play the next game if it's just going to be another big for the sake of big pointless choice history breaking bullshit of a game. I'll just watch the story on YouTube if they just make more of the same. I play the Assassin's Creed games to play an assassin. Not some action adventure RPG.
Odyssey is one of my favorite games of 2018 but this is a legit complaint imo. The series has now changed so dramatically that calling it Assassin's Creed almost feels like a joke. I still greatly enjoy the game for what it is and have poured dozens of hours into it. ---
