| Topic | Are Witcher 1/2 crucial to the lore, or can someone jump straight into 3? |

However, you absolutely should play 1 and 2 because they are great games and will enhance your experience a lot. 1 has some issues. As others have said it's janky in spots, the UI is bad, etc.. Most of the sexual content is pretty cringy as well. Also it is entirely possible to lock yourself out of side stuff without realising. However at its core is a really solid RPG with some good writing and fun systems. Then 2 is just a great game by any stretch, and easy to get into.
