So like some have said, when they were 14/15 doing habbo hotel swastika raids "for da lulz" they are now approaching 30. Mass shootings have been on a massive rise since specifically 2007, when Virginia Tech happened. Columbine might be the "first", but there was a small gap of time between that and Virginia Tech with minimal amounts of this. Social media anxiety manifested in a stereotypical male way. I know grown ass people who i work with in their 40s who say crazy shit like "i delete posts on social media if they dont get likes fast enough". Not high schoolers, adults with kids who are in late elementary/early middle school. My favorite is when people don't click off notifications tabs because they like seeing the notification number go up. Pretty much measuring their self worth in how many notifications they get. Sad state of the world. This problem will only get worse. The government does need to do something to at least limit this though. --- Casual Revolution 2007 - 2016 ... Copied to Clipboard! |
