| Topic | Sarah Silverman fired from movie over old blackface picture (2007) |
| pinky0926 08/14/19 7:24:14 AM #70: | Obviously, a movie company can decide to not employ someone that could potentially bring their company into disrepute. This is a standard PR move by them. The real issue here imo is how flaky we've become as a society that this is enough for a company to flake. I'm not saying blackface isn't an issue. I'm saying holding a grudge over someone who reconciled their opinions and did a complete about face (hah) on their previously terrible judgment is kinda ridiculous. Easy for me to say, I'm a white guy. I just don't understand what more you can want from a person after so long. So a comedian showed poor judgment, was called out, they apologised and went on to not do that thing anymore. Is that not enough, or do we need to keep them from employment for the next 3 decades --- CE's Resident Scotsman. https://imgur.com/ILz2ZbV ... Copied to Clipboard! |
