Cause its just weird that Pikachu evolves since thats mostly ignored by most of the stuff involving pokemon I dunno, that Lt Surge episode in the tv show was really emotional when it dealt with the possible evolution of Pikachu. It dealt with the fact that maybe Pikachu couldnt beat anyone stronger anymore because of who it was. Def one of the better episode of the series because of that. Although I havent watched the show or anything in almost 20 years so I dont know if anything changed.
