This quote I have 2 questions How do you know that the water is boiled? Where do you buy pasta that costs only 20 cents though? I guess chef boyardee is cheap at my grocery.
It's 20c per *serving*. A box of dry pasta is $1 and has 5 big meals in it, cause it gets bigger when you cook it. Chef boyardee is already cooked and it's more expensive -- you only get a tiny can for $1. Pasta you cook is a big box for $1
The water has bubbles in it like soda when it's boiling. They start out small and eventually the bubbles get really big and the water moves all around like it's about to explode (but it doesn't, it just keeps moving)
There's nothing special about boiling the water, it's just a way to tell that it's hot enough - it boils at around 200F. You can still cook pasta if it's not boiling in like 180F water
