Its not just because people kept saying "IM RICH JAMES BITCH!" to him...it was because he could see that he was perpetuating those stereotypes to that type of audience and was worried it might undo any progress that was made with regard to people not viewing his people like that. Also, a bunch of comedians slowly gravitate away from typical jokes and move on to a more introspective, political or serious set.
