Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 154 Points 12 List Appearances Snake - The trajectory arc of Leon is one of the more interesting examples of character development in the RE series. While many characters remain pretty static through different entries, Leon's progression can easily be traced from RE2 all the way to now with RE6 and RE: Vendetta. Starting off as the idealistic rookie cop, his biohazard experiences hardens him quickly, evolving his sense of justice and duty as seen in Darkside Chronicles, while working alongside Jack Krauser, maybe the closest he has to a best friend and mentor. Krauser's injuries sustained during Operation: Javier would again color Leon's personality. Though in RE4 we see a lighter side to Leon, the reappearance of figures from his past clearly give him a lot of inner trouble. First, there's Krauser, now turned against Leon and working with Wesker, causing Leon to re-examine all that he knew when it came to his former friend. Then of course, there's Ada, a flirty frenemy that simultaneously helps and hinders Leon's progress. This will-they, won't-they relationship is very unique to the series, and every scene with Leon and Ada together is always a lot of fun. After RE4, Leon returns to his more serious personality with Degeneration, Damnation, and RE6, but the return of Claire and Ada still opens him up to more light-hearted moments. The full-extent of his PTSD can clearly be seen in Vendetta, which sees him become an alcoholic in the face of all the past trauma he has experienced over the years. This type of character trait is rarely touched upon in the RE series, only really being seen elsewhere with Chris' character. Leon expertly blends badass moments while still taking the biohazard threats seriously, making for one of the best characters in the RE series. 13.
