If you are manually altering their personality to match your interpretation of what "good" is, and thus, are functionally preventing them from making choices you deem unacceptable, then by definition they do not have free will. You have essentially created deterministic automatons that can only follow the rails you'd laid down for them, and even when they can "make decisions", they're only experiencing the illusion of choice.


TC said they would be made good, not someone's interpretation of good. Also, good-aligned peeps don't always follow a specific action for a given situation. There is variance and they are generally good. There is still uncertainty in how someone will act and free will can take them down any number of paths.
