I've still only played the first game and ther first few hours of 2 maybe I'll get to it one day

2 really upped the ante on the storytelling. 1 was basically just follow Angel as she leads you toward the vault. The presence of Handsome Jack as the main character, and the villain, definitely drove the plot. One of the more memorable antagonists in gaming.
