Gettimg them a sort of crib/playpen will help to contain it. Get some pee pads and encourage their use when they're inside, but always try to get them outside and praise the living fuck out of them when they do it there. It's like pretty much anything else with a dog. You can teach them through negative reinforcement, but it's not gonna be as easy or effective, the dog is gonna hate it, and you always run the risk of crossing the line into straight up abuse. --- I am your shepherd cloaked in obscenity.
