Topic | Should cops require more than 6 months training to uphold the law? |
BillyKidd 09/11/19 6:45:49 PM #8: | no. During police academy they learn all they need to in regards to laws and upholding them. They then have Project 48, where every 3 years they need to accrue 48 hours of continuing education covering all aspects of law enforcement not including every 6 months going to the gun range and making sure they pass qualifications. Why should they spend more time in the academy if there is nothing more to be instructed on? Also, to point out; lawyers and doctors have to be taught all aspects of the profession. A student going to law school that intends to be a criminal defense attorney still has to sit in and pass other law classes (Eg. real estate law). Would-be doctors wanting to focus on a specialization still have to attend other branch classes than the field they want to work in. --- Tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil.
