The camera never shows the audience, so we can't properly judge the size of the crowd, but from what we can see, it's pretty small. Also, this isn't really a bold move at all coming from the president. It's easy to put people you like and who agree with you in a room. What would be more remarkable is if he filled that room with democratic black americans who he'd negotiate with.
