No

As somebody who pretty much never uses cash, I have never once been asked for ID when buying groceries. From multiple states.
Your ID is supposed to be checked every time using a credit card or debit card, check, or cash assistance card.

Just because your cashier is not doing their job properly, doesn't mean they are not supposed to be.

They are supposed to verify signatures / check to see if it is signed on credit cards / debit cards. Supposed to verify identity on checks and cash assistance cards.

SEP weren't you a Kmart manager? That is down right embarrassing you do not know that.

Edit: Sorry, I am a bit off base in what I am saying. They have to ask for IDs if your credit / debit card is not signed to verify your the person who owns the card. So what I was explaining was a little bit wrong. Checks and cash assistance is as said above.
