Depends on the method. The surgical one can be an issue but is usually a result of both surgeon skills and a complication, the local anesthetic one only poses the risk if you get a really severe infection.

Sucks about your reflux issues. And it's mostly an aesthetic "let's not give another reason for people to misgender me without me even talking" thing. Quality of life improvement, also will let me wear nicer chokers.
