Yeah anybody who's studied economics on the most basic level should be able to agree to the logic of automation basically having very low to no downside. They don't replace jobs more than improve the overall standard of living and reduce the bottom of the barrel menial jobs. In real life, there are problems with people being unable to adapt, but in general, there will usually still be plenty of menial work available from industries that don't grow as quickly.

As logical as automation being good is, this fact is not exactly an easy thing to convince people. I swear at least half the people here are on the other side of the Luddite Fallacy. It's because they can see with their eyes that machines replacing certain jobs on a short term, but it's far harder to see what happens on a long term basis.

There will always be more jobs for more horses.
