The more liberal equivalent would be eco terrorists who legitimately believe we'll make the world unlivable within a generation or two at our current rate of polluting. That came to mind, but even though I think eco-terrorism is going to pick up over the next ten years, it still feels significantly different. Like it'd be different in pro-life people were like "Our current rate of baby-killing is bad", because then there's a defeatist sort of attitude of even if you did something locally it wouldn't change much.
