Topic | Question for people that wear shorts and a winter coat when it's cold... |
ParanoidObsessive 11/06/19 4:08:39 PM #11: | Personally, I can wear shorts long after I start to feel like I need long sleeves or a jacket of some kind, mainly because I don't really lose as much heat through my legs as I do through my torso. Send me out in a 40F day in shorts and a heavy jacket and I'll be perfectly warm. Reverse that and send me out wearing long pants and a short-sleeve t-shirt and I'd probably be fairly chilly. This was only exacerbated back when I used to run track, or when I'd go walking/hiking - I'd generate so much heat from my leg muscles that I'd actively overheat (and it would make my legs itch like crazy) if I was wearing long pants that trapped the heat in. So I pretty much HAD to wear shorts if I was doing anything athletic, no matter how cold out it was. I almost never go out wearing shorts from November-March or so no matter what the temperature is, though, but that's more of a social thing than a physical thing. I could easily wear shorts in any temperature above 50F or so and be completely comfortable if people weren't constantly judgmental about it. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ...
