I left teaching because parents want teachers to do so much parenting. If I wanted to be a parent, I'd have kids. Can't tell you how many times I caught shit from a parent for not "intervening" in some way on their behalf. Sure, I'll parent 90+ new kids 8+ hours a day for 9 months of the year.
