I agree with all of that if you just remove "further proof." Louis CK doesn't fit this example though because he did apologize... eventually. I mean, subtract major points for his initial fake-out apology and denial, but he gave a thorough apology for all of it in the end.

I agree that the wait-and-forget process isn't a healthy way for society to deal with these guys, but there also has to be some redemptive path back for some of the lesser-transgressors. I'd argue that Louis CK is walking that path delicately, in a way that sets a positive example. If we can't forgive him then what exactly does someone like him have to do to earn his second chance?
