Then I realized it's a Rian Johnson movie

Still, maybe he's better at his own projects than he is with Star Wars

Or maybe he's just awful overall

Could be either or

I'm not a fan of WW2 movies in general but Midway looks like it's taking a slightly different approach and the audience seemed to really like it if Rotten Tomatoes is accurate on that (90%)
