this, i suppose, is what happens when there's a severe lack of nuance in political discourse

or maybe it's the donors propping the movement up, as every election and political movement since 2004, idw aside, has been a rebuttal of it in some form or another, left or right

or, you know, maybe the message of individual liberty and personal responsibility resonates with people

neoconservatives do not have a monopoly on the values of "liberty and personal responsibility"

there are a multitude of other political perspectives and movements that are not neoconservatism that espouse similar

i'd also argue that historically speaking, neoconservative policy has yielded quite the opposite of those ideals
