Sailor Moon is a tough sell because you have to ask: do you cast actors who look like the characters or do you cast Asians? Because most of the Sailor Moon characters don't look Japanese. Sailor Moon herself looks practically Aryan. But people will cry whitewashing if you cast white people in it. So what do you do? Cast Asians but have them dye their hair? That would look silly. Just have them look natural? Then they don't look like anyone because they'll all have black hair and brown eyes.

Sailor Moon: White
Second Scout: Japanese
Third Scout: Black
Fourth Scout: Japanese
Fifth Scout: White

Sailor Moon's Boyfriend: Japanese

That resolves everything. Hollywood has its inclusive casting, Sailor Moon looks like she always did, and nobody complains about white washing because a white girl is dating a member of another ethnic group.
