Whataburger has apologized to drag queen, Erika Klash after they DENIED her entry to the Austin business because her video game character outfit was deemed a SECURITY THREAT!!

She appeared on the 2nd season of The Boulet Brothers Dragula and shared the incident on her social media and said she was deneid entry because she was in drag and they were deeming here a "security threat" with the outfit

She said "Manager didn't want me to enter and security blocked me from entering without citing any company policy. I am a professional artist, NOT a security threat. It's hard for one not to wonder WHY all of that is happening. As a queer person, it's also hard to feel safe in these moments"

The San Fran based drag queen is known for her bright yet ghastly drag creations and has been performing at the 2019 Austin International Drag Festival in a queer friendly city..

She identifies as a Gender Non-Conforming but uses she/they pronouns when in drag

Erika modeled her look after Danganronpoa video game character Monokuma and is known for dressing up as anime, video game and manga characters with a horror twist

Whataburger apologized and said "We love all of our customers & we are investigating the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident"

She said the chain apologized and that the investigation will be completed this week and said "I REALLY want to believe that this was all a misunderstanding, but at this moment, i cannot be certain. Hopefully this investigation will shed some light".

Erika updated Dailymail that the company completed the investigation and conceded it was mishandled by staff but that there was no evidence of discriminatory intent as Klash said they went to another location and says there's a policy against wearing a mask on premises but not makeup which she had on. Her intent was to speak out and wanted to hold these businesses accountable for any wrongdoing and while she was hit with SEVERAL NEGATIVE RESPONSES, none have stopped her for speaking out
