It's strange to me that the author is so outraged over a misguided statement Buttigieg made eight years ago, when he didn't say a peep about Biden's overtly ignorant comments eight weeks ago. Biden basically said that the achievement gap exists because minority parents don't know how to parent. Can anyone explain why he gets a pass on that?

It seems weird to assume that the author doesnt have a problem with Biden just because this piece was about Buttigieg

As much as the tone of the article was a turn-off, I still learned something from it, so I went looking for the author's take on Biden's phonograph comments to see if he had anything insightful to say about it. Couldn't find anything.

White fragility tone policing and a requirement to write a separate article about every Biden gaffe before you're allowed to criticize Buttigieg. This is the cult of Pete.

It's possible to be both angry and rational. But then there's this part of the article:

I want to be clear: Pete Buttigieg is a lying motherfucker.

This is not a misunderstanding. This is not a misstatement. Pete Buttigieg went to the best educational institutions America has to offer and hemore than anyone on the goddamned planetknows that everything he just said is a baldfaced lie.

The author is just throwing around angry assertions here, and it obscures the valuable lessons that the article has to offer.

Pete's not in my top three but I think it's totally valid to compare him to Biden, especially through the lens of race. Biden has overwhelming Black support compared to the rest of the field, which I confess is mystifying to me. I know it's not my place to question, but I'm curious. The article-- while it goes too far in ascribing malicious intent-- makes a compelling argument as to why Black voters don't trust Mayor Pete. What I don't understand is... why do they trust Biden? (Or give him a pass?).
