Sorry, but as a species I don't think we're responsible enough to take away that coercive factor to the world. Without that threat of dying because eating is habit forming, we'd never convince anyone to do a lot of shit work, and I happen to like the garbage is hauled off, all the steps are taken to put food on my table, and keep the lights on among other things. Funny for all the concerns about the poor in the world, no one's asking what job they can do to earn a higher wage, even as they want free medicare, education, infrastructure improvements and more. Lots of work to do in there, but who's volunteering?

But I also think we should have universal medicare. You said "free medicare" for some reason but I dont think anyone thinks it'll be free. Just that it'll mostly be cheaper than our current garbage system for most people.
