A while back I was thinking of making a game similar to Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos. I kind of gave up while learning the game engine. The plot of it would be that you investigate 2 groups. One is a manufacturer of machines that mine and build infrastructure on other planets. You discover that they're using tulpas as a shortcut to developing self aware AI.

The other group is a cult that is searching for the soul. They believe there is only one. They've found a way to separate a person's spirit from their body without killing them. They then study the body and extrapolate about the spirit based on what is missing. From this they surmise that the spirit returns to the one soul which exists outside of time.

There are some other things to uncover but the general idea was to draw a comparison between the 2 groups with humans being a medium to project the spirit on similar to the machines and tulpas.
That actually sounds really cool!

I've thought a lot about the distant future. I'm talking tens or even hundreds of THOUSANDS of years from now. Where technology is so integrated into our physical bodies....that it's hard to separate biology from technology. AI from human.

And I think we will get to a certain point where we will understand and have such complete mastery over our physical forms....we will know where the soul is located in our bodies. In our atoms. In all of our neurons. What makes us "us".

Downloading consciousness onto external hard-drives. Teleporting "self" across the cosmos. Diving into different shells. Or multiple shells at a time. Replicating life.

It's gunna be weird as hell.

Assuming we don't blow ourselves up beforehand.
