That's the same as arguing that Lion King 2 is less of a Lion King movie than Kimba.

There's tons of material in the Star Wars franchise that you can look at to see if things fit the setting or not. TLJ is clearly outside of the setting. TFA is not but it doesn't really do anything besides echo stuff that came before it, which is why it's a serviceable film but a disappointing star wars film.

Like I said - despite being a lackluster filmmaker by himself, Lucas is still the creator and there's a notable difference without him. This literally happens in every single other piece of media where the creator stops being involved after a certain point.
