Palpatine's message went out to the entire galaxy, and he has a massive fleet of planet killers and is about to send it out to wreak havoc. The Battle of Crait was one battle. Also Lando and the Falcon went to a more populated space lane and IIRC Crait was isolated.

I wish we'd actually seen the ships gathering, we didn't need the "oh I wonder if they'll show up" moment, we know they will, so instead show us Lando gathering the fleet.
