Unfortunately mental illness is a thing, and it can and does stop people from living normal lives, like going out and socializing. I've only ever been so depressed that it was nigh impossible for me to not wallow one time in my life, but I've heard of people who are depressed 24/7. Some people are so plagued by unrealing depression that they are immune to pep talks or therapy. This is excluding all the other types of mental illness, like schizophrenia. What normal person would want to be in a relationship with someone who literally believes monsterious demons are out to get them, and are constently defending against said demons?
